Arizona stop shows out-of-service risk for missing CDL and worn tires
Commercial carriers should verify driver license status and inspect tire tread before every trip. State police used the case to warn all operators about blowout risks.
A commercial vehicle and its operator were placed out of service in Arizona after a state trooper found serious safety violations. The stop occurred on September 18 in Chandler.
The driver did not hold a valid commercial driver license. State police confirmed the license status was invalid at the time of the inspection.
The tractor trailer also had severe tire damage. One tire had blown and was throwing sparks. Other tires were completely bald or worn down to the inner structure.
Both the driver and the commercial vehicle received out-of-service orders. The Arizona Department of Public Safety shared the case to stress the need for routine maintenance checks.
State police used the case to remind operators to inspect tire tread regularly. They noted that bald tires raise the risk of blowouts and road collisions. Companies should verify license validity and check tire condition before each trip.
