ROMOTANA Signs Cooperation Agreement at the Romanian Senate to Strengthen Romania–U.S. Business Ties

The Romanian-Moldovan Trucking Association of North America (ROMOTANA) reached an important milestone in its international development on September 11, 2026, with the signing of a cooperation agreement with IMM București-Ilfov, one of Romania’s organizations representing small and medium-sized enterprises.

The agreement was signed at the Senate of Romania in Bucharest, providing an important institutional setting for a partnership designed to strengthen economic and commercial connections between businesses in Romania and the Romanian-American business community in the United States.

Representing the two organizations were Marcel Șomfelean, President of ROMOTANA, and Felix Lucian Căprariu, President of IMM București-Ilfov.

The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Florin Jianu, President of IMM România, as well as Romanian Senators Ștefan-Radu Oprea and Titus Corlățean, underscoring the importance of stronger cooperation between Romania’s business community and Romanian entrepreneurs operating throughout North America.

An important outcome of the discussions was also an agreement between ROMOTANA and IMM România to jointly organize a Romanian-American Business Forum in Bucharest in 2027, bringing together entrepreneurs, business leaders, organizations, and potential partners from Romania and the United States to explore new opportunities for trade, investment, and cross-border cooperation.

Building a Business Bridge Across the Atlantic

The newly signed cooperation framework establishes a foundation for ROMOTANA and IMM București-Ilfov to facilitate business relationships, encourage the exchange of experience and knowledge, and identify new opportunities for members of both organizations.
